Sabrina and her husband David run Chess Life Academy and coach chess at schools, libraries and privately for over a decade in South Australia.

Her work focuses on an inclusive approach: recruiting and supporting individuals on the autism spectrum for both clients as well as future coaches. Recognizing the unique strengths that neurodiverse individuals bring to the chessboard, Sabrina creates pathways for them to thrive. Sabrina builds meaningful connections with schools and community organizations to identify and engage individuals who might benefit from Chess Life Academy’s programs. She designs tailored systems to accommodate the diverse needs of participants, ensuring they feel valued and empowered.

Sabrina is committed to building an inclusive work environment at Chess Life Academy by carefully hiring chess coaches who align with the academy’s mission of inclusivity and empowerment. She prioritizes candidates who not only excel in teaching the strategic aspects of chess but also possess the empathy, patience, and adaptability needed to support neurodiverse individuals. Sabrina ensures that coaches undergo specialized training in neurodiversity awareness, equipping them with the tools to create an encouraging and accessible learning experience for all students.
